How bad are my Mets when I rant about how bad they are and a PADRE fans tells me the r better than the Mets?

How horrible are we? not as bad as some I know, but ...our pitching isn't there, our bats seem silent, what gives? How bad are my Mets when I rant about how bad they are and a PADRE fans tells me the r better than the Mets?
it is still early my friend...only 3 games back

no question starting pitching is crucial, a change may need 2 b made...they may need to add a gun; however, it's too early to tell who is selling starters (altho early word is cleveland is tryin 2 unload cliff lee already)

hitting really isnt that bad...delgado is doin what i knew he would...take a huge contract and bat .250, this year shud b his last in a Met uniform...move murphy to first and sign an OF...jose reyes is startin slow, but he will come around...everyone else is batting well

o and that padre fine should be quiet because they are atrocious and will probably finish last in their division if the rockies don't...they hav 2 good pitchers and nothing else....mets start slow...padres idea of starting hot is their 11-14 record and their current losing streak of 5 games

Mets seem to do this lately...start slow, end hot...well hopefully they can keep consistent and make the playoffs...without starters tho...they will notHow bad are my Mets when I rant about how bad they are and a PADRE fans tells me the r better than the Mets?
The Mets are a few games under the league average right now.

I'm not sure as to why there was such high expectations were put on the Mets going into the season considering their rotation had some concerns. Perez, Hernandez, and Pelfry all have era's over 6.00.

They can't expect Santana to win every game especially with the lack of run support he gets.

In addition to the early pitching woes, Reyes and Wright are off to slow starts.

In all, the Mets are only 3 games out of first place. Mets fans shouldn't feel to bad about their team.
In early May, a fan of any team can say that theirs is better than any other specific team.

No team can go through 162 games without having dry-spells and winning streaks. There was a popular phrase in baseball back in the late '80's that stated ';hitting is contagious.'; I think it came from the inconsistency of certain teams who had a lot of power in their line up, but still had an inability to produce runs. Only to ';awaken'; with a 4 or 5 game stretch where they put up double-digit run totals.

One could argue that pitching takes days off too. Some pitchers perform well with pressure. Others do not, especially if it is self imposed pressure. A pitcher that goes into a game and say to himself, ';I have to get 6 quality innings pitched today, because our bullpen is worn thin from yesterday's nightmare,'; will typically give up a lot of runs in the first few innings. Someone will break the trend, and it will motivate others in the rotation to build on that momentum. Sometimes, even the greatest athletes over-think things, which can hinder productivity.
Its the hitting in we got the pitching settled with putting Perez in Bullpen

But our Bats are coming together

You no whats the real problem with the Mets is that there a homerun Hitting team in they went away from that in now they finally hitting it out the ballpark. All them groundballs the Mets are hitting aint working we just need to just blast the ball out the park. Thats what are team is made for.
we dont have any starting pitching besides Johan Santana. We need to pick up another good starting pitcher this season, I'd say ship out some Minor league Prospects along with David Murphy for a guy like Jeremy Guthrie or some other dude.

This is a bit off topic, but do you like the Mark Sanchez pick up for our Jets. I'm a Southern California guy so obviously I'm stoked about him, how about you?

We still need to get a WR opposite of Jerricho Cotchery.
It is early yet. Keep the faith. Our starting pitching(except Santana) has not looked good, our bullpen(except K-Rod) is shaky, a lack of clutch hitting and leaving too many runners on base, and our new Stadium forgot to identify the name of our team(except on the scoreboard full of advertisements) and any of our past players. I heard it from a good source(many inner being) that things can only improve and get better.

See you at our new ballpark(home of ??, the 1956 Dodgers).
Theres plenty of time to ';right the ship.'; They do need to make a trade for some pitching. He fiexed the bullpen, no he needs to fix the starting pitching. If he doesn't, he'll wear down the bullpen again.

I think Omar needs to go, he's hasn't done a good job since 2006.
The mets indeed look terrible, who do they have after santana? Not many other good pitchers.so far they have gotten man handled, especially by the marlins.yet, the mets do this all the time, but it doesn't end good.
The Mets need to make some major changes in order to start winning more. I believe Perez should be one of them. They hae a great team there just not playing good baseball
I'm a Royals fan thats going to tell you that the Royals are better than the Mets, also.
at least we have Oliver Perez!
