What's the point of having pedestrian only bridges? plus rant on eco-warriors?

In cities built on rivers?

Wouldn't it be far more cost effective to just make the bridge twice as wide and open the bridge to traffic as well, instead of having to make an entirely new bridge for traffic?

Where I live, we have all the greenies that always want to build these things.

They are the same people that say that only buses should be allowed in the CBD, not cars.

These people are more eco-warriors than they are driven by economics. Why do we listen to them? They shouldn't be allowed have their opinion taken seriously. What's the point of having pedestrian only bridges? plus rant on eco-warriors?
about your question can be read in http://neons.synthasite.com/?q=pedestrian%20pointWhat's the point of having pedestrian only bridges? plus rant on eco-warriors?
its because those commie green types form groups to lobby the government.

the only way to stop the greenys getting their way is to form groups and lobby the government to build roads and bridges.

Also some counter protests might help (protest against the greenys)
