When i connect my samsung rant to my computer it is not recognized by my computer. how do i fix this?

i have tried going ot www.samsungwireless.com/usbdownload but that page wont show up on my computer. is there any other way that i can get my phone connected to my computer?When i connect my samsung rant to my computer it is not recognized by my computer. how do i fix this?
