What, exactly, is a 'rant' about an issue, and why is it forbidden?

A rant is an opinionated statement where you can get people to agree with you. It's construed as ';not a question or an answer'; violation under the Community Guidelines-strictly prohibited here. This is not at all knowledge-worthy and can be considered as potentially hateful speech. Never use this site as a soapbox to vent your frustrations at all costs.

Here's some information on what I'm saying:

1. What does it mean when you say we have to follow the question-and-answer format?

We ask that community members follow the question-and-answer format because Yahoo! Answers is a question-and-answer community. This means when you post a question, it must be written in the form of a question. When you post an answer, it must attempt to answer the question being asked.

-It is possible that a question could be considered a “rant”, even if it is formatted correctly. Avoid posting questions that are more about declaring your opinions than seeking knowledge.

Even a simple question can be considered a rant. When the asker is expressing their point of view/opinion, even in the form of a question, it would be considered a rant. As the type question another person got reported for and asked about here ';Isn't it obvious that...';? That's a rant. What, exactly, is a 'rant' about an issue, and why is it forbidden?
A rant is basically giving an opinion, long or short, and then looking for people to agree with you.

This will help explain it.

A 'rant' is going on and on about a topic (running it into the ground).

Why forbidden? Because the site is titled ';Questions %26amp; Answers';, not ';Piss %26amp; Moan';.
