Yeah, I have the ability, but not the desire...





It's a curse. You end up lonely and without any friends once people figure out you're ';opinionated';, and people will *hate on you* once they figure out you're ';argumentative'; or ';difficult';. Folks want you to ';cooperate';, meaning all they want to hear these days is ';Yes sir';, ';Yes ma'am'; and then nothing more but silence with a hanging head.





Not to mention, if you rant on just *any old thing*, at some point it doesn't matter how smart or well-read or well-researched you are, people just *won't* take you seriously and will do anything to ignore you. I get that a fair bit on Answers. People picking the ';idk, my BFF Jill!'; types of answers after I cough up half a page and three links. %26gt;_%26lt; All because the other answer's a one-liner from someone else the Asker *likes*.





So yeah. It's a curse. And if you think this is bad...search my Profile name, ';Bradley P';, here on Answers with the phrase ';your society';.





Egads. For the first year or so I was here, I was just nuts. *Those* were rants--many were necessary to counterbalance ignorance and trolling, but they were still ranty as hell.





I hope this helps. And don't be too frightened by the Old Me...truth is, I learn from my mistakes, and one of those mistakes was my thinking I had hope for the future, and that my words here (or anywhere) still mattered.

Thanks kindly for the Best Answer. And I do try. Some days I don't know where I get it from, but I keep on going. Some days it really does seem like the whole world's gone bad, and that life will never be good for me...

(continued) but even if that's the case, I'm still a grown man, and still have some responsibility to future generations. If nothing else I can at least try to convince other, younger, more hopeful people (if only by my poor example) that life doesn't have to be this way...better is out there.

Yea i could rant about most anything, but I don't use that ability often. Now certain things I will always rant about but I don't make a habit of ranting about everything. It depends on how you use the ability as to if it is a curse or talent.
yes. i can rant on anything!!! like i can't stop talking ever. so for me its a curse.
