Why does White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen rant about every little thing?

A White Sox pitcher could pitch a perfect game with the final score being 1-0, and Guillen would say, ';We're playing like s***! I'm not protecting anybody no more!'; Why would he spoil a great moment like this with a rant about a lack of offense? Why does White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen rant about every little thing?
You also have to remember that Ozzie played for the White Sox 1985-97. He was fiery as a player, I like it because I am the same way I hate to lose also. He is very passionate about his baseball team. Look, these players are getting paid millions of dollars to play a kids game, they should be held more accountable. His baseball team was under-performing and every player that plays for him knows that he will ';go off'; from time to time. I don't see any problem with him ranting, it's good for the game. Why does White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen rant about every little thing?
I used to think he was just some foolish idiot who got off on yanking reporters. But the more I see of it (I am a Tigers fan by the way) the more I think there is some genius to his methods. Odd no doubt but he keeps the Chicago press off the players and keeps it directly pointed at him all the time. The Sox have no shortage of quotable guys in that clubhouse yet he somehow keeps the reporters from getting any thing other than a snipit from any of them. Plus that creates incentive for his guys to go and a play hard for him, make no mistake they know he is helping them. Not the preferred style of managing in the mainstream but for whatever crazy reason it has gotten them to the promised land once and they are in the catbirds seat again this year. Personally I would love to punch him square in the mouth but Sox fans should embrace his lunacy....he wins and that is all that really matters at the end of the day.
Bazeball bean berry berry good to heem...better than he has been for it.

He's totally classless when you compare him to any of the greats who have managed winning teams over the years. I could list a dozen or more off the top of my head. He figures he'll motivate his players by whining to the press about them. His foul language and cry-baby rants send a message to youngsters that every Little League coach tries desperately to fight every day. I'll bet there are a whole lot of White Sox who would rather be playing for the Dodgers and working for Joe Torre than this tiresome egomaniac.

He was a good player, but that certainly doesn't qualify him to be a manager. I don't like his style and I don't like the way he treats people and the game.

I hear Willie Randolph is available. The Sox could do a lot worse!
The first poster is correct, if the Sox could only get one run in that well of a pitched game he would not be happy with the offense.

Ozzie is not one who likes to be in the spotlight. He doesn't even like nationally televised games. I think he would be happy if he was never interviewed again.

Just remember if people didn't like his input they wouldn't ask.
Using that scenario that you mentioned...he's right. Obviously the offense was awful if they could only muster 1 run in support of this brilliantly pitched game. You gotta push for more from your guys.

I'm sure he would congratulate the pitcher, but the offense needs some fire underneath them.

And I agree with ';vip'; below me as well.
Never be content. Never accept things cant get better no matter how well things currently are. Different people have different ways to express this point depending on education, temper, verbal skills, vocabulary, etc. KAIZEN! (look it up if you dont know it already)
He's a publicity hound, he likes to hear his name on the news, its all a show with that guy, I believe the word CLOWN best describes him.

And No, I'm not a Cubs fan!
Because he is inappropriate.

It is one thing to do that behind the camera but not on TV. I would probably like the Sox if he wasn't there coach and got rid of AJ.
Because if he screams at the players they will play better
He wants too.
